How do you answer a college contribution essay?

Insight

Use one role you already hold. Say what you did for other people, and name the campus setting where you would do that again. “I will bring diversity and leadership” without a scene does not tell them what you contribute.

When to use this. A supplement that asks what you will contribute, how you will get involved, or what you add to a community.

Guidance

  1. Pick one activity from the activities list, not a bundle of them.
  2. State your responsibility and who was affected.
  3. Name a specific campus context that matches that work: a group, a course, a job on campus, a community just off campus.
  4. Keep the claim small enough that a recommender who saw the work would sign it.

Optional. Copy this into ChatGPT or a similar tool if you want a first draft. Replace the [PASTE] sections with your own material. The work stays in that tool; we do not save it here.

Rules: Do not invent employers, job titles, dates, metrics, team sizes, or outcomes. If something is missing, ask me or write [unknown]. Keep hedges such as "approximately" and "more than" exactly as I stated them. Never turn a qualitative result into a number.

Reshape one real incident into an essay draft. Use only the notes I paste. If a fact is missing, write [unknown] or ask me. Do not add a school, activity, metric, or outcome I did not state. One scene. First person. Keep my part visible.

This is a contribution supplement. Use one role from my notes, the people affected, and the campus setting I name. If I did not name a campus setting, ask me. Do not invent clubs.
