Terms of use

These terms govern your use of VisibleCareer’s website, application, and related services (“Services”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

These pages are a product description of how the Services work. They are not legal advice. If you need a review for your situation, consult your own counsel.

Who we are

Public website

The public site includes informational pages (home, about, resources, questions, glossary, and similar). Resource pages provide guidance, instructions, and prompts meant to be used in tools you choose, such as ChatGPT. We do not store the career text you paste into those third-party tools, and we do not run that work on our site. You are responsible for what you submit to any third-party tool.

Accounts

Some features require an account. You must provide accurate information, keep your credentials confidential, and be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms and supervise use. You are responsible for activity under your account.

Subscription and billing

Paid membership is a subscription billed through our payment processor (currently Stripe). Fees, plan length, and renewal terms are shown at checkout and on the billing screen. Subscriptions renew until you cancel. Canceling stops future charges; it does not usually refund the current period unless required by law. Some AI features also consume credits, which may be included or purchased separately. Credit packs are not the same as subscription fees.

AI features

The application may use third-party AI providers to draft, score, or suggest text. Outputs can be wrong, incomplete, or generic. You are responsible for checking facts, numbers, and claims before you use them. Do not rely on the Services as professional legal, medical, or financial advice.

Your content

You retain rights to the career information you enter (experiences, resumes, stories, contacts, and similar). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content as needed to operate the Services, including generating drafts you request. You must not upload content you do not have the right to use, or that is unlawful or infringing.

Coaching

Members may invite another account to act as a coach. A coach can work in the member’s library subject to limits we set (for example, coaches cannot take some irreversible actions). The member remains the account owner and can end the coaching relationship. If you act as a coach, you must only access accounts you are invited to, and you must not misuse what you see.

Verification and sharing

If you ask us to email a third party to confirm a claim, or you create a share link, you are responsible for choosing the recipient and the content. Do not send verification requests to people who should not receive them.

Affiliates

The affiliate program is separate from career membership. Affiliate registration, approval, tracking, and commissions are described on the affiliates pages. We may approve, deny, or disable affiliate accounts.

Acceptable use

You may not misuse the Services: no unauthorized access, scraping that harms the service, malware, spam, impersonation, or using the Services to produce fraudulent credentials or to harass others. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.

Disclaimer and liability

The Services are provided “as is.” We do not warrant that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that using them will result in a job, admission, or other outcome. To the extent allowed by law, VisibleCareer is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunity. Our total liability for a claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid us for the Services in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Material changes to paid features will be reflected at billing or in-product notice where practical.
