How do you write resume bullets?

Each bullet should be a consequence, not a job duty. Pattern: what you did, to what, with what result (who was affected, by how much, if you actually know). “Responsible for managing vendors” is a duty. “Cut vendor onboarding from six weeks to three by…” is a consequence. Do not invent numbers.

Guidance

  1. Start from notes: what you were asked to do, what you did, what changed, who benefited.
  2. Lead with a verb. Put the result in the same bullet when you have one.
  3. If you only have a qualitative result, say that. Do not let a chatbot invent “40%.”
  4. Cut bullets that only restate the job title.
